In November Niamh and Kerrie joined fellow Cruise Ireland members from Belfast Harbour, Visit Belfast and the Port of Cork and travelled across the pond to the US.

The whistle-stop tour brought them whizzing across time zones between Seattle, LA & Miami where they met with clients from some of the biggest cruise lines in the world.

It was a great opportunity to enjoy the wonderful partnerships Cruise Ireland have with Princess Cruises, Windstar Cruises, the Holland America Group, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Virgin Cruises & Carnival Cruise Line.

It was also a fantastic occasion to catch up with Sam and Chris!

September & October were packed full of networking opportunities and FAM trips. From the Ledden Ladies enjoying the Irish weather in Dublin Bay to Niamh and Kerrie toughing out the sunshine at Seatrade Malaga it has been a productively enjoyable couple of months.

Melissa from Royal Caribbean finally made it for a FAM trip after her original trip had been cancelled due to the July global IT disaster. Lynn flew to the UK to attend Flavours of London—a company first, and in some contrast travelled by boat to InisMór with clients from Silversea who had also explored our wonderful Wild Atlantic Way.

The Peace Boat called to Belfast on October 5th and representatives took this opportunity for a second time to explore the sights of Northern Ireland.

There was ITOA events, Failte Ireland roadshows and a Visit Belfast evening — all happily attended by various members of the team.

The Winter is sure to be packed with even more workshops, sales calls and Fam trips — great opportunities for employees to gain knowledge, for the company to gain insights and for relationships with suppliers and clients to be nurtured.

These events are exclusively offered to guests who have sailed the entire world cruise which lasts 274 nights & includes 8 World Wonders & visits 7 continents & 60+ countries. The other locations for their events were, A Vineyard in Montevideo, Uruguay, The 89th floor observation deck of Taipei 101, Tai- wan and A Musical Experience at the Ephesus Theatre (250B.C.), Turkey.

The Cork event took place at the Midleton Distillery Experience & was a huge success. It was an honour that Excursions Ireland & Cork were chosen to host the 4th & final event of their world cruise. Despite the weather (poor Lisa got saturated on the pier but powered true with glamour & glee!) spirits were high among the guests as they enjoyed an evening of Irish Whiskey, Music, Dancing & delicious food.

The drinks flowed, the guests mingled & the extraordinary venue created an atmosphere that will be hard for these special guests to ever forget.

Many visitors made a point of telling the staff that this was the best of the 4 events. And standards of a world cruiser are high! The EI team flitted around the Distillery bar sneaking extra drinks vouchers into the hands of appreciative guests like party enhancing sprites. In fact on 2 separate occasions Julie was described as an angel appearing from the darkness as she dished out drink vouchers liberally. The evening was such a hit that many guests were reluctant to leave the Distillery however a combined effort eventually saw all on to the coaches & the shorex & EI teams made it back to the pier with 10 mins to spare!

Kerrie, Lisa & Julie struck a poignant picture in the rain, waving goodbye as the ship sailed away from Cobh. They quickly moved on however & found the nearest old man’s pub for a pint, a natter & then the worst chipper they could possibly imagine!

Well done to all involved!

Morning: A Warm Welcome and Exciting Beginnings

Your adventure begins the moment you step off the cruise ship and onto one of our luxury coaches, where you’ll be greeted by a friendly local guide eager to show you the best of Dublin. The excitement begins with a scenic drive through the city’s streets, passing by Dublin’s iconic Georgian buildings, bustling streets, and vibrant neighborhoods. Onboard, your guide will give you an introduction to the city, sharing fascinating stories about Dublin’s history and culture, ensuring that you’re fully immersed in the experience from the get-go.

First Stop: The Guinness Storehouse

No trip to Dublin is complete without a visit to the Guinness Storehouse, and it’s one of the highlights of many of our excursions. Located in the heart of the city, the Guinness Storehouse tells the story of the iconic stout, from its creation by Arthur Guinness to its worldwide fame. Guests will enjoy an interactive experience, learning about the brewing process, the brand’s history, and its significance to Dublin. The tour culminates at the Gravity Bar, offering breathtaking views of the city as you sip a pint of the world-famous beer, making for the perfect Irish experience.

Lunch: A Taste of Ireland

No visit to Dublin would be complete without indulging in some local cuisine. We take our guests to a traditional Irish pub for lunch, where you can enjoy hearty Irish dishes like stew, fish and chips, or a delicious plate of boxty (Irish potato pancakes). Alongside your meal, try some locally crafted cider or a classic Irish coffee for a true taste of Ireland!

Afternoon: Explore Dublin’s Literary and Cultural Heritage

After lunch, we head to Trinity College, home to Ireland’s most famous book – the Book of Kells. This beautifully illuminated manuscript is a must-see for history buffs and art enthusiasts alike. Visitors can wander through the Long Room in the Old Library, a breathtaking space filled with thousands of ancient books. For those with an interest in Dublin’s literary heritage, a visit to the Dublin Writers Museum offers a fascinating look at the city’s long literary tradition, featuring famous writers such as James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, and Oscar Wilde.
