They've long played coy on rumors of a romance, but Alexander Skarsgard has nothing but good things to say about his Straw Dogs costar Kate Bosworth.
"She's amazing," the True Blood actor, 33, tells Extra of his costar in the upcoming remake of Sam Peckinpah's classic thriller. "It's been a couple of tough weeks [of filming] now, and she's been amazing."
The pair first raised eyebrows when they were spotted cozying up at October's Spike TV Scream Awards in L.A. They even shared a quick on-stage smooch when Bosworth, 27, presented Skarsgard with the Best Villain award.
"Kate and Alexander hugged a few times and were often spotted whispering to each other," RadarOnline.com reported of the pair's backstage rapport. She even "playfully slapped him on his butt a few times," according to the site.
Still, Bosworth herself insists she maintains a purely platonic relationship with True Blood's vampire baddie.
Spotted at a showing of Fantastic Mr. Fox a month after the Scream Awards, the couple kept their distance.
Asked about their relationship status, Bosworth told paparazzi photographers "Friends, guys!" as she jokingly punched Skarsgard in the arm. "We work together."

Chris Martin is denying cheating on wife Gwyneth Paltrow after a story surfaced that he was canoodling with actress Kate Bosworth.
Star magazine reported that the Coldplay lead singer was spotted making out with Bosworth, but a source close to the couple backs Chris, adding that while the couple has issues, Kate Bosworth is not one of them.
"Chris did not hook up with Kate in public or private," the insider tells Fox411. "Chris has enough to deal with his work, his children and Gwyneth. He is not adding an affair with another A-lister to his list of things to do."
The source says Paltrow is also brushing off the story as best she can.. |

A rep for Chris Martin has shot down rumors that the Coldplay singer locked lips with Kate Bosworth.
Star magazine recently quoted a source claiming to have seen the actress and rocker “totally making out… in front of other people.”
But the rep for the singer said the report is pure fiction.
“This story is entirely untrue,” Chris’ rep told Us Weekly.
Chris and his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, have been married since 2003. The couple has two children together – Apple, 5, and Moses, 3.
